i just got the Scale master pro xe 6135 it is a bit different then the old model but i have had no trouble with moving to it from my ageing old unit of 5 years i love this brand and it will be the main tool in my takeoff kit
I would advise not going for the pc link cable it is not worth the time or cash

Laying out a new bid PART 1
SO you have a new project to bid it is not that hard. It is easer than Tiger Woods explaining all of the the women poping out of the woodwork to his wife.;)
In working on a new bid it is so important to lay out your bid properly. I like to lay out in this order
The reason I like to start with the lighting and Gear is to get a feel for the building and a general layout for it and to get the counts out to the venders. They will be looking for time just like we will to complete this in today’s fast bidding market.

- Lighting – counts only
- Gear / electrical panels -counts only
- Feeders – complete take off
- Outlets – complete take off
- Switches & lighting control – complete take off from panel to light
- Fire system
- Structured cabling, CAT-6, Phone ect.
- Other - for the odd stuff
